If you have been sexually assaulted you can go to your local SARC regardless of how long ago it happened. They are open 24 hours and are staffed by experienced empathetic professionals. 

You can get medical attention if you need it, and won't be expected to go into what happened, or report to the police if you don't want to.

You will be able decide if you want them to collect medical evidence in case you might decide to report what has happened to the police at a later stage.

When you arrive at a SARC, you will be taken to a comfortable room where you can talk to staff about what will happen next.

SARC staff are specially trained to support you throughout your visit including during any examination.

They will talk through your options, and help ensure that your individual needs are met, including coordinating any follow up appointments or referrals.

They will help you to access other forms of support such as counselling and therapy.

You can choose to bring someone with you and you will not be rushed into making any decisions.
